Today is the first day of my next adventure...I've been inspired by Susanna's, "Winged Messenger Project" blog for about a year. She designs and paints delightful messages which are left in public places for unknowing strangers to find and hopefully get some inspiration. I'm putting a little twist on the project hoping to inspire my high school art students. For those who follow my blog, you know that I am a life long learner, and always ready to step out of my comfort zone to try new things. Remember my endeavors learning how to paint Graffiti? Pursuing your dreams doesn't always pertain to the large accomplishments in your life, sometimes its the small events that generate the greatest happiness. For the next year I'm using my wings to share my dreams and accomplishments with my students.

As we were walking to our car, I noticed the couple parked next to us were getting ready for a bike ride. Hmm, someone else pursuing their own happiness today. I showed my wings to Bob and Roberta Fisher and asked if I could take their picture. They kindly agreed. Roberta is a career counselor and loved the message of the wings.
I would say that was a positive sign.

We had a great bike ride along the water. We live just outside New York City and have come to Rochester for our nephews wedding. Glad to be a part of your project. And yes, we spent the morning "Pursing our Dream." Bob and Roberta Fisher
ReplyDeleteooo Thank you for introducing me to a fabulous new blog to read!
ReplyDeleteAnd you are so brave to ask people to pose with your wings!!! I'd have just left it to be found and scampered off hoping no one saw me leave it there :) Maybe I should make a sign about being brave and then just do it!
A wonderful message to share.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Jesse. What an accomplishment!!!
.....and.....a gorgeous drawing for her!!! WOW
What a wonderful post, Karen. Your photographs are terrific and I like that you invited two strangers to participate in the project. Kudos to you for asking them! And thank you to the two strangers for obliging. Thank you, Karen!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun day! My friends have often talked about creating kind messages and leaving them where folks will find them...this has inspired me to get going! Thanks!
