My First Video

Drawing and Free-motion Stitching from Karen Maggio on Vimeo.

Always looking for new ways to connect with my High School Art students, I created my first video demonstrating drawing and free-motion stitching with music by "The Naked and Famous."

  1. Oh cool! I kept leaning closer to the monitor, hoping for a closer look! Oh wait...I can make the video BIGGER by clicking on that arrows symbol...ohhh, well look at that! This is so interesting, Karen. Your student must love your classes. And the accompanying music is terrific!

  4. You are on a roll, woman!! The patterns that you are getting with the free motion stitching are just fabulous. Who the heck wants perfect stars btw? I think yours shine just as they are.

Isn't it wonderful to be so excited about what you are creating?

I have been using my machine to draw lines with thread for some time. I'm certain I am not using it properly....do I read direction? of course not! Thinking of the possibilities.

Have a grand time with this Karen. I'm loving your pieces.

  5. wow! I hadn't been back since I saw your first one. What a progression. It's beautiful! I have soy wax and paints but have not tried anything like this. It's amazing. I love the combination of the drawing and then the free motion sewing. I like to do that too.
