What to do, What to do...

My summer break has begun and just like every summer, my head is spinning with ideas for all the things I could do. So what's the first thing I do? Make a list of course. If I don't make a list I might forget, especially during those lazy days when I just can't seem to get myself motivated.
Number one on the list, sketch daily. Next on the list would be to exercise daily, use my 5 free yoga passes, then check out books at the library on making Improvisational quilts, work in my gardens, call my girlfriends and make plans to get together, and most importantly, relax and remember to enjoy the moment.

Over the weekend I made a test stripe of all the colors in a new box of "Derwent-Graphitint" water solvable pencils. I got an idea over at Design Matters TV on using watercolor pencils on fabric. Can't wait to try it!

Sketch using the the Derwent-Graphitint pencils. Let the summer fun begin!

  1. Love your little sketches/paints and LOVE the list. Happy Tuesday! :)

  2. I like your plan! Nice drawing too!

  3. Enjoy your holiday, I hope you get at least half of those things completed! It does feel good though to make a list and gradually tick things off.

  4. You and I are on the same page with our summer to do lists. I love this time of year when we can take our art supplies outside - or at least open up all the windows in our studios. I started making a colour chart with all my oil paints - like you have done with the water solvent pencils. It's a good idea, to see what we already own and be able to choose a particular colour at a quick glance. I'm looking forward to seeing what you create this summer.

  5. I have the Derwent Watercolor pencils which I love, but last year I bought the Inktense pencils. The color is gorgeous and can be heat set onto fabric.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with your pencils.
