I'm so ready for Spring... that on my way to work Thursday, I stopped at the grocery store and bought two flower bouquets to share with my Drawing and Painting Students.
I explained to the students that we were going to have fun!! Everyone must stand and use easel brushes (long handle) and hold then at the end of the handle. I used 18 x 24" paper and started my demo with large quick brush strokes mixing color in the same manor. We had lots of laughs and the time just flew by. Would you believe these were the first two samples?
It was the Best class ever!
Yesterday was my daughters birthday, and thought it might be fun to share the sketches with her on Facebook. I photographed the paintings, added a birthday message using Photoshop and posted them on her wall.
Hope you enjoy and don't forget to hop over to Alexandria's blog, to see what the others are sharing for this weeks Sunday Sketches.

Love your flower paintings.I hope Spring is on its way to you soon.
ReplyDeleteLovely sketches, flowers are my weakness, and what a great idea to post one on your daughter's wall!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like fun painting by holding the end of the paintbrush! Maybe I should try it, I always work so tightly and close to the paper, it would be good to loosen up a bit!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers, beautiful bouquet!
ReplyDeleteAnd a wonderful lure for spring as well!
I'm ready for Spring, too. Oh my goodness. We've had so much snow and bitter cold temps. Today was SUCH a lovely reprieve and delight. We went on 2 walks! :) Wonderful painting of flowers, too. Very lovely. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the feeling of freedom in your strokes, as well as the fabulous colors in the composition. Happy Birthday to your daughter and Blessings!
ReplyDeleteBoth of them are wonderfully done ~ love the fluidity and movement!
ReplyDeleteHappy Week to you,
